About Ralf Rottmann
My name is Ralf Rottmann.
I’m a serial entrepreneur who sold his last company to Alcatel-Lucent and now serves as the Managing Partner (“Geschäftsführender Gesellschafter”) at grandcentrix, a High-Tech Gründerfonds venture. Incorporated in 2009 with my long-term business partner in crime, Martin Willnow, grandcentrix has become Germany’s largest system integrator focussing entirely on large scale digital products and the Internet of Things.
At grandcentrix I run the Technology Group, 85 full-time developers (September 2016) specialized in Android, iOS, Web and (IoT) Platform Development and 24/7 ISO 27001 certified carrier-grade operation. At grandcentrix, we help clients like Miele, Viessmann, Leica, GIRA, Migros, German Telekom, Roche, AXA and many other market leading companies to address the challenges of the Digital Transformation by designing, building and integrating Digital Products and Business Models. I’m frequently having the privilege to meet C-level members of these companies and getting deeply involved into their digital product related strategy discussions.
I also co-founded the inspirational fashion shopping startup AMAZE which was sold to Zalando in May 2016.
As the Managing Partner of Rottmann Willnow Ventures GmbH Martin and I occasionally invest into handpicked digital ideas.
In 2010, Germany’s renowned WirtschaftsWoche put me on it’s List of Best Known Serial Entrepreneurs.
I’m also a former Editor for The Next Web, one of the World’s leading Technology Blogs and have frequently publish articles there.
Prior to all of that, I served as the Head of Information Technology at 1&1, now United Internet.
Besides I’m known as an expert on all things IoT and Cloud Platforms. I love the Open Web, Business and Culture.
